How to play
Groov plays you a mystery song. Your job is to work out when it came out and place it on your timeline — earlier or later than the songs already there. Place it correctly and the card locks in. Get it wrong and you lose a life.
- Tap the play control to hear the track
- Tap a slot on the timeline, or switch to Drag mode and drag the card into place
- After you place it, Groov shows whether you were right, plus the song name and year
- Swipe the card down to skip a track
- Tap Hint if you're stuck
Modes
- Solo — one player, full focus
- Pass & Play — pass the phone and battle head-to-head, or build one shared timeline together
Common questions
Do I need an Apple Music subscription?
No. Groov works out of the box using short preview clips. Connecting Apple Music is optional and adds two things: decks built from your own library, and full-length playback instead of previews.
No sound during previews
Check that your ringer isn't on silent and the volume is up. Previews stream over the internet, so a weak connection can also stop them loading. If a specific track stays silent, swipe the card down to skip it.
"Could not load songs"
Groov fetches songs over the internet, so this almost always means a connection problem. Check your network and try again. Widening the year range or clearing the genre filters also gives the app a much larger pool to draw from.
Apple Music won't connect
Open iOS Settings, find Groov, and make sure Media & Apple Music is enabled. If you previously denied access, this is the only place to turn it back on.
Can I play offline?
No. Songs and preview audio are fetched live, so Groov needs an internet connection.
How do I delete my data?
Deleting the app removes everything. Groov stores all your scores, favourites and settings on your device only — there is no account and no server copy.
